Taj Mahal was considered one of the 7 wonders of the world situated in Agra, Uttar Pradesh in India. Taj Mahal stands as a large symbol of love for almost 350 years since it was erected. It personifies the love of Shah Jahan(Mughal Emperor) for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is conceived with the strongest emotion that dominates mankind. This white monument has attracts all foreign visitors from all over the world.

Over 22000 laborers and about thousand elephants employed, the construction of Taj Mahal completed in 22 years. Stones were brought from Tibet and Sri Lanka for construction. The architecture of this age old mausoleum is a combination of Indian, Persian, and Islamic architectural styles. Its sheen and scientific set up beats all other wonders of the world.

On the finer side, the intricate illustrations on the walls and the jaali work, meticulously worked upon entwined floral ornamentations leave you speechless. The chief designer of the monument is Ustad Ahmad Lahauri, the board included Abd ul-Karim Ma'mur Khan and Makramat Khan as well. The construction started in 1632 after 1 year of his third wife Mumtaz Mahal’s death.
The Taj Mahal sphere consists of 5 major components.

1- Darwaza (The main Gateway)
2 - Bageecha (The Gardens)
3- Naqqar Khana (The rest House)
4- Masjid (The Mosque)
5- Rauza (The main Mausoleum)


Taj Mahal is located in Agra, 220kms far from the state capital and to the east of Rajasthan. The structure is erected on the banks of the River Yamuna. Taj Mahal looks even more splendid under moon light, and appears in different colors during different times of the day. Taj Mahal can now be viewed after sunset as well. The flood lit monument is grandeur to watch.
